Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Mediation?
In Mediation, a qualified neutral person (the Mediator) facilitates communication between the parties to promote settlement. A mediator may not impose his or her own judgment on the issues for either party. Mediation is based on the principle of self-determination by the parties in order to voluntarily reach agreement. The participants, rather than the Mediator, are responsible resolving the issues and for shaping a settlement agreement.
What Does a Mediator Do?
Mediators provide a safe environment and facilitate communication between the parties in order to help them reach settlements.
